Just had to share

I have lots of cards that I have been working on, just no pictures yet. I received this from a friend and loved it so much, I just wanted to share it with you:

BEAUTIFUL CHRISTIAN SISTER
By Maya Angelou

A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ
That a man should have to seek Him first to find her.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not shouting 'I'm clean living,'
I'm whispering 'I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say.. 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain...
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow!

I finally had time to stamp!

I managed to squeeze in some time for some card making yesterday, so thought I would share with you...

This first item is an antique book that I purchased at a garage sale last year. I have decided to fill it with photo's of my husband and I and I am doing it in all black and white photos, and using only cream, black, white, red and gray papers and embellishments. I like it so far. Just need more pictures to add to it.

This next card was made with a stamp from the Unity Stamp comp. and I have to say, I love this stamp. I wish they would make some more scripture stamps like this one! This stamp was just the thing I needed though, as we are really praying for God to move a mountain for us. If you remember, just a few short months ago, we lost my mother-in-law to cancer. And we just received the news a few nights ago that my father in law now has cancer. So this one is for him!

and then I was on a flower kick and managed to get these cards done in a short amount of time:

And this last card has a magnet in the pocket that can be pulled out:

And yes, I did all of those cards yesterday! I also made 5 additional cards that I have not posted. So I was very productive yesterday.
Well, it was so nice of you to stop by to visit...hope you enjoy your day!

Merry Christmas

I am probably not going to be able to post anything before Christmas so I wanted to get this out for everyone to see:

1 CORINTHIANS 13 - - A CHRISTMAS VERSION -

By an unknown author

If I decorate my house perfectly with plaid bows, strands of twinkling lights and shiny balls, but do not show love, I’m just another decorator.

If I slave away in the kitchen, baking dozens of Christmas cookies, preparing gourmet meals and arranging a beautifully adorned table at mealtime, but do not show love, I’m just another cook.

If I work at the soup kitchen, carol in the nursing home and give all that I have to charity, but do not show love, it profits me nothing.

If I trim the spruce with shimmering angels and crocheted snowflakes, attend a myriad of holiday parties and sing in the choir’s cantata but do not focus on Christ, I have missed the point.

Love stops the cooking to hug the child.
Love sets aside the decorating to kiss the husband.
Love is kind, though harried and tired.

Love doesn’t envy another’s home that has coordinated Christmas china and table linens.

Love doesn’t yell at the kids to get out of the way, but is thankful they are there to be in the way.

Love doesn’t give only to those who are able to give in return but rejoices in giving to those who can’t.

Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never fails.

Video games will break, pearl necklaces will be lost, golf clubs will rust, but giving the gift of love will endure.

Have you fallen into that? I know I have. So Merry Christmas to you! Do not worry about the small stuff...focus on the true meaning of Christmas. Enjoy!

Unbelievable news

Well, yesterday was our children's musical at church, and I have pictures to post. So I am happily uploading them, getting ready to post, when I see a post from another friend stating that one of our blogging friends has passed away. I could not believe it as I just received a Christmas card from Joanne Johnson
on Saturday! Oh, I am so saddened by this. My heart and prayers go out to the Johnson family at this very difficult time. And Joanne, you will be so missed!

Here are the pictures of the kids. This is the reason I have not been blogging or papercrafting for that matter last week, as I was busy making all of the costumes! But the kids just loved them, so it was all worth it!

In case you cannot tell, the red costume below is a bell.

And I think I was enjoying the production so much, I did not even realize that I did not get a front view picture of the tree!
