The Weekend

What a beautiful, but busy weekend we had. The weather here was awesome all weekend. Sunny and 70! Perfect!
Yesterday the youth from our church had a get together at a church members home out in the country. There was horseback riding, a hayride, hot cider and carmel apples. Later that night they had a bonfire and then celebrated one of the girls birthday. After the hour long ride home, I was exhausted. Then it was up early for church this morning, running around all afternoon looking for a shower gift, dinner, and then finally some time to try and create a card for my husband. No occasion, just want to let him know how much I love him. But 2 long days do not make for good creativity time. This is the best I could come up with. Not very happy with it, so I am not sure I will give it to him after all. I guess I will have to try again later this week.

The Pumpkin Patch

I just love fall. I love the weather in fall, all of the beautiful colors of fall, and all of the fun fall brings, like apple picking, going to a pumpkin patch to pick out pumpkins, and decorating the house for fall. Yesterday, I stopped in this great store called "Buffalo Stamps & Stuff" and found this oh so pretty fall paper from Daisy D's. Could not wait to do something with it, so this morning I decided to use the cuttlebug pumpkin cutter and make a pumpkin patch card. The little saying on the card is a dollar stamp from Michaels that says "Pumpkin Patch".
Hope you like the card!

Marching Band

My son Ryan is in the high school marching band. He is only an 8th grader, but they are allowed to participate as well. I went to the high school football game last night, so that I could see the marching band perform. They were really good. And the kids are all having such a good time. My older son who is now in college used to be in the high school marching band, and I actually cried during his last performance because I enjoyed going to them so much that I knew I would miss it. Well, now I get to go again for another 5 years! :)
I think one of the reasons I had so many children is because I was trying to keep these kind of activities going for as long as possible. I really enjoy watching my kids in all they do...sports, music, etc. They truly do grow up so fast.

I'm not alone!!!

Thank you for letting me know I have visitors! I am so happy!
Since I am new to this, I have so many pictures to share of projects I
have done in the past. This was a mini scrapbook that I did a few months
ago of a Tea Party that our women's Bible study had. It was so much fun!

Hope you like it! And thank you again for visiting. It really does mean alot to me!

Hello, is anyone there?

Ever feel like you are talking to yourself? That is how I am feeling.
Is there anyone out there? :)

Some more re-do's

Unfortunately, I did not take any before pictures of either of these items. I may end up re-doing the long bench again as I am not really in love with the way it turned out.

Here is a closeup of the top part of the bench:

And lastly, this was just a plain old brown chair:

Fall Thank You Cards

I make cards for my husband to use for his clients. With the cool weather rolling in and the leaves changing color in my front yard, I could not resist going with a Fall theme for this months cards. Here is an example of one of the card styles:

Hope you like it! (Because that means they will too!)

So many things going on

I really would like to spend more time on this blog, so I am going to try to make that a goal. I should have a little more time now that the kids are in school. Our ladies Bible study just started up again tonight, so I have been busy getting ready for that. I am helping teach the little ones while the ladies are in the Bible study. Boy those little ones are just so darn cute. We sang worship songs and it was so fun to see them jumping around and enjoying the music. Everyone got to paint their name on a canvas drop cloth and decorate their own "space". They had such a good time...but who knew paint would go thru the dropcloth and onto the floor??!! Umm, isn't that what they are supposed to prevent from happening? ;)
Oh well, all ended well and we managed to clean up all of the paint.
I hate to see the summer come to an end, but I just love this season when I get to see friends that I have missed all summer.
I have many more pictures to post, but I cannot do that tonight. Way too tired.

Thinking of you Shawnna! Thank you for your encouraging comment! We will continue to pray for you.

This is something that I really enjoy doing. Going to a thrift store and find old pieces of furniture, bringing them home and re-doing them. I found this little dresser about 2 months ago and finally have somewhere to post my pictures!

This was the little night stand/dresser that I purchased:

This is the same night stand/dresser after I painted it:
