Doodle

I love it when Stephanie over at http://homegrownhospitality.typepad.com/homegrown_hospitality/
creates these doodles. Yesterday she posted one and asked to see what we did with it, so here is mine:

I am going to use mine as a gift for a woman that lives at the other end of our street. For years she has supplied the neighborhood kids with Popsicles in the summertime and hot chocolate in the winter. She is such a nice woman and every time you ask the kids what her name is, they say "the popsicle lady". So I thought the quote on the doodle was very fitting!

Thanks so much to you Stephanie for sharing your talents!

Have a great day!

Sketch Challenge 173

Here is my card for today's sketch challenge on split coast.

I took the picture and then decided that I did not like the ribbon on there, so I have removed it but did not want to retake the picture.

Here are a couple more cards I did this morning:

Could not find a pattern for an airplane anywhere so I just tried to mimic the one on the paper as best I could.

The weather has just been gorgeous here this week. Finally!
Some of my tulips have opened, but still waiting for the rest to open before I take any pictures!

Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Tile Coasters

I have several sets of the rub on's from SU's sale-a-bration and was not sure what I was going to do with all of them. So, I found these little candle plates (while shopping at Ikea) and thought I could use them for coasters. I have made this first set using the black flowers, and I think I will be making another set today using the green flowers. I put the rub-on on the bottom of the plate and then sprayed it with a clear poly spray.

The next two coasters are from 2 sets that I will be selling this weekend. They are stamped on tumbled marble tiles.

Thanks for looking!

Welcome to the Neighborhood

I went shopping at IKEA last weekend and found these really cute but plain tea towels that are white with a red strip down each side. So I picked up a few of them, knowing that someday I would think of something to add to it. And yesterday was that someday. Here is one of the things I will use them for:

Now wouldn't that be cute to go along with a nice big plate of chocolate chip cookies?

Thanks for stopping by...Happy Monday!

Sketch Challenge 172

Hi! I am so behind on the challenges for splitcoast, so it was so much fun to be able to participate again this morning! I really liked the sketch challenge for today so I ended up making 3 cards instead of one. Only have time to post one for now though:

Hope you like it, and thanks for stopping by!

Have a great day!

Head Over Heels in Love with Jesus

ok, here is the update on the women's conference. Thank you to Laura and to Bev for asking!
It was soooooo good! Friday night Sharon Daugherty was very good. She is a great speaker and you know it is coming straight from the heart. But then Saturday came and Babbie Mason blew me away! Wow, what a powerful woman! She spoke in the morning and she was so funny. She had some really great things to share. Then she gave a concert in the afternoon. She has just released her 20th cd! The cd is titled "Everything" and it is really good. I am listening to it as I am writing this post and I gotta say, if you have a chance, try and get a copy. You'll love it. For example, the song "Strong Tower"...if you listen and it does not make you want to snap your fingers, or clap your hands and praise God, let me know so that I can pray for you! ;)
Carol McLeod said she has already started planning for next years conference, so start to save your pennies and maybe you can come!

Next, here is the other reason I have not been blogging much. As I mentioned in a previous post, I am trying to get ready for a craft show being held on April 26th. So here are a few more of the projects I have been working on.
The first one is a felt journal that I found at our craft store. Thought the colors were so nice and bright and would be great for a young girl. I stamped on the felt using stazon and the stamp is from SU's set "Love Matters"

The next one is a box from Maya Road that I painted and then covered in paper. Added rub ons to the vellum front and a pretty yellow ribbon. I think I am going to stamp a couple of onsies and put them on the inside.

This next one is a flip book that I think turned out really cute. It was a kit I bought, but I used totally different paper than what the kit provided.

I actually have a box filled with stuff that I have done, but don't have time to post all of the pictures.

ok, last thing. I have a friend that has a chocolate candy business every Easter and in his boxes of chocolates, there were nice little white cardstock dividers that I snatched up. It is a really nice weight and is glossy on one side. I have lots that I can share if anyone is interested. It would be perfect for the images or sentiments on the front of your cards! Just email me and let me know your address and I will send it out.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by to visit! I really appreciate it!
