Sketch Challenge 165

Here is my submission for yesterdays sketch challenge.

Now, ya know how everyone says a Hairdresser is the last one to get a haircut, or the cobbler is walking around with holes in his shoes, ...
well that is how I feel when it comes to cards for my family! Today is my husbands birthday and I have not made him a card. Last week was my daughters sweet 16, and I have yet to make her card. I did make a card for my sister....who's birthday was on the 21st, but it is still sitting here on my table! I really need to get better at this!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Baby Christopher

Hello! Thank you to all that have volunteered to send a card for Katie and baby Christopher. A few of you have asked for an update as to how he is doing, so I am going to post the email here that I received:

I'm Robins friend Denise and its my son's fiance's
friend that is the mom of Christopher. I haven't heard
too much in this last week other than he was taking a
bottle and holding it down. Katie goes everyday to
college here in Plattsburgh, NY then travels to be
with Christopher after in Burlington, VT. I just
received a card today from someone in Ontario for her
and I know that will mean so much to her. My sons
fiance, Sara, knows the Lord and is talking to her
about Jesus. So thank you so much for lifting
Christopher and Katie in your prayers. I will ask Sara
tomorrow to see if Katie has any needs and email you
back.

Thank you and God Bless,
Denise

Two posts in one day!

So no posting for over a week, and here I am today already posting again. I just could not resist doing the challenge today on Splitcoast. The challenge was to use different patterned paper together. So here is my card:

Thanks again for stopping by!

Various projects

Has been a while since my last post and even my sister keeps wondering what I am doing! I am here now! I have been working on a couple of projects but other than that, just have been busy with life. I know everyone can relate.

This first project is a heart memory book from Maya Road. The stamp set used for the front of the book is from "Technique Tuesday" and the set is called "In A Word: Children". It really is a cute set. I am only going to post a couple of the inside pages.

This next item is a mini scrapbook. They are soooo easy to make! You can find the instructions here: http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/2007/11/vsbn-coster-min.html

And lastly, I have been working on a few cards, and here is and Easter card:

ok, so that is it for now. Maybe I should not post all of my pictures at one time so that I could post a little more often!

Thanks for looking! Have a great Monday!

Sketch Challenge 163

This is for today's challenge on splitcoast. And this is the story behind the card:
There is a single mom who is 19 years old going through something horrible right now.
Her 9 month old son Christopher was diagnosed with liver cancer. They are looking for a match to do a partial liver transplant, but in the meantime, he is undergoing chemotherapy. Apparently when the mom (Katie) found out people wanted to send her cards, she cried! So if there is anyone reading this post that can send a card of encouragement to this new mom, she really could use it right now. You can email me for the address.
I ended up using the same scripture that I used for my son a few days ago. Just thought it was fitting.

Have a great day!

To my son Jeff:

Hi Jeff, since I know you check my blog, I am posting this for you:

Philippians 4:6,7

6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

I love you Jeff!

Limited Supplies Challenge

Well, I thought today's challenge was going to be easy until I sat down to actually do it. The challenge was to make a non-traditional valentines card.. no pink or red paper, and no flowers or hearts. Every time I had an idea, I realized it included one of those things! So, this was the best that I could come up with this morning:

Hope you like it!

Sketch Challenge 162

Here is my submission for today's sketch challenge. I have chosen the scripture Isaiah 55:12 as my main focal point. The scripture is "You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands."

Hope you like it!

Feature Stamper Challenge

Here is my card for today's challenge. The card I chose to case is here:

and here is my card:

This is what I have changed on my card...the flower image, the punch at the bottom and instead of ribbon, I have used twine.

This will probably get the record for the longest post!

ok, well, I am sorry, but you will all think I am crazy. If you remember a few posts back I mentioned I was making a "faithbook" for someone at our church who is having a baby and it was going to be a group shower gift. And I also must tell you that I am not a scrapbooker, so it was a definite challenge for me. Which is why I am going to bore all of you with ALL 44 pages. Yep, if I had to make them, I am posting them! :)
so here goes....And really, thanks so much for taking the time to look at them!

I will truly appreciate any and all input or suggestions because the shower was tonight and I have already been asked to do another book! (insert crazed scrunched up face!)

One more note, the font on the scriptures is from the CD, made by Stephanie at Homegrown Hospitality, which you can purchase on her etsy site: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=57408

ok here goes...really this time:

WOW, Your still here?? Thanks for looking!!!
