Hi Sandra - I couldn't find a place to send you an email so I figured this would be best!!! In answer to your scarf question, you can make it any length you want. As you "stitch" over the hills and valleys you will be removing "stitches" when you lift the loops and that will eventually form the scarf and as it forms it will come through the open bottom of the container...you will only have one row of "stitches" on the hills and valleys at one time...once you start, all this will make more sense.
