Here is a closeup of the top part of the bench:

And lastly, this was just a plain old brown chair:

Be careful to follow every command I am giving you today, so that you may live and increase and may enter and possess the land that the LORD promised on oath to your forefathers. Remember how the LORD your God led you all the way in the desert these forty years, to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands. He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.

Hi Sandra - I couldn't find a place to send you an email so I figured this would be best!!! In answer to your scarf question, you can make it any length you want. As you "stitch" over the hills and valleys you will be removing "stitches" when you lift the loops and that will eventually form the scarf and as it forms it will come through the open bottom of the container...you will only have one row of "stitches" on the hills and valleys at one time...once you start, all this will make more sense. Please let me know if you have any other questions - I'm happy to help!
What a great bench!
